Yesterday saw our first social event of the year as around 30 members and friends took the short trip to Devizes for the tour of Wadworth's marvellous Northgate Brewery.
We were looked after royally by tour guides Beki and Lucy and were privileged to meet the company stars Max, Monty and Archie, the famous shire horses. We sang a few folk songs by way of appreciation including, being so close to the old Hopton Barracks, Ralph Vaughan Williams' arrangement of A Farmers Boy to the tune of the Duke of Edinburgh's (Wiltshire) Regimental march.
Thoughts now turn to our AGM and next three concerts:
- Sat 24th June: Milton Lilbourne Summer Fayre with Pewsey Belles in aid of Prospect Hospice and Wiltshire Air Ambulance
- Sat 8th July: Bouverie Hall with Mothers Jam and other guest stars in aid of the Hall Improvements Fund
- Sat 6th August: Pewsey Music Festival
